The development of materials for shielding, absorption, and interference suppression is an urgent practical challenge for ensuring the electromagnetic compatibility of devices. Iron-containing compounds are among the most promising radar absorbing materials. This paper studies a plasma dynamic synthesis method for producing dispersed iron oxides. The efficiency of an electrophysical setup based on a coaxial magnetoplasma accelerator with steel electrodes is examined, depending on the process energy parameters and the gaseous environment of the reactor chamber. The most promising experimental conditions for converting the electrical erosion material into an oxide product are achieved with an energy storage voltage of 2.5 kV and a capacitor bank capacitance of 14.4 mF. Other optimization ways for increasing the performance of the developed laboratory setup are also demonstrated.
