We describe here Glyptothorax adunatus as a new species of sisorid catfish from the Mekong River drainage in Southern Laos. It can be distinguished from all Mekong drainage congeners in having nearly all the striae in the thoracic adhesive apparatus (TAA) connected to (versus separate from) each other. Glyptothorax adunatus is additionally distinguished from Mekong congeners by the tuberculation and colour of the body; snout, neurocranial and TAA morphology; and a combination of mensural characters.http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:076D0C46-FF52-4C2C-B839-B2CFBB610A70
