This study investigates how congregational singing in religious contexts is affected by AI-driven piano playing. The use of AI to improve musical accompaniment poses important issues regarding the dynamics of group worship as churches increasingly incorporate technology into their worship sessions. We investigate how AI piano systems affect participation levels, musical engagement, and the overall worship experience using a mixed-methods approach that includes both quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with worship leaders and congregants. Results show that while AI can enhance musical accessibility and consistency, it also poses issues with congregational singing's emotional connection and authenticity. The study's conclusion offers suggestions for successfully incorporating AI technology into worship rituals while maintaining a balance between innovation and the preservation of shared musical traditions. By providing insights for further research and useful applications in faith-based settings, this study adds to the larger conversation on the role of technology in spirituality and community.
