Morecroft et al. (1988) studied SARS-CoV-2 (n=18). RBD-S-Dps vaccine vs. RBD-SpyT2 or PBS was evaluated on Protection against clinical illness (weight loss) and infectious viral load in the lungs (p=<0.05). A single immunization with the multimerized RBD-S-Dps vaccine completely protected hACE2 transgenic mice from weight loss and significantly reduced infectious SARS-CoV-2 levels in the lungs compared to monomeric RBD or PBS.
