New protocol characterizes exercise-induced reactive and adaptive circulatory changes in young men.
Why the study?
The circulatory system's acute response to physical exercise varies with training status and exercise mode, but a conceptual model to study these adaptations is needed.
The study develops a comprehensive 6-block conceptual model to evaluate acute reactive and long-term adaptive cardiovascular responses to different exercise modalities in young men.

New protocol enables study of exercise-induced circulatory adaptations in young men; leaves open validation and clinical translation.
Lukyantseva et al. (2026) studied Healthy (varying physical training status). Different training modalities (conventional resistance training or functional TRX training) vs. Untrained individuals was evaluated on Reactive and adaptive changes in central hemodynamics (stroke volume, cardiac output, cardiac index, total peripheral vascular resistance) and heart rate variability. A conceptual model and six-block protocol were developed to investigate reactive and long-term adaptive changes in the circulatory system of young men in response to different types of exercise.
