On-chip phononic devices have potential for microwave signal processing, but their use has been hindered by the limited schemes of active controls. Magnomechanics provides a promising solution by exploiting magnon-phonon interactions, enabling dynamic and tunable phonon manipulation. This review summarizes recent advances in surface acoustic wave-based magnomechanics, including nonreciprocal propagation, coherent transduction, and strong coupling. We further highlight developments that integrate magnomechanical systems with phononic crystal platforms. These approaches open new possibilities for dynamic, on-chip manipulation of microwave phonons, with potential applications in next-generation communication and information processing technologies.
