Background: The high prevalence of hypertension among the elderly is influenced by the low level of knowledge regarding hypertension prevention. Health education using poster media is considered effective because it is visual and easy for the elderly to understand. Objective: To analyze the effect of health education using poster media on elderly knowledge about hypertension prevention at Parongpong Community Health Center. Methods: This study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one group pretest–posttest design. The sample consisted of 35 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using a knowledge questionnaire administered before and after the provision of health education through poster media, and then analyzed statistically. Results: The results of the bivariate analysis showed a difference in the level of knowledge of the elderly before and after receiving health education using poster media, with a p-value < 0.05, indicating that health education had an effect on improving elderly knowledge. Conclusion: Health education using poster media has a significant effect on increasing elderly knowledge about hypertension prevention and can be used as a health promotion media at Parongpong Community Health Center.
