An 85-year-old woman successfully underwent aortic valve re-replacement using a mechanical valve via a partial valve-in-valve technique for severe aortic insufficiency caused by a leaflet tear.
Why the study?
Structural valve deterioration causing aortic insufficiency due to leaflet tearing of the Medtronic Freestyle stentless aortic bioprosthesis in the remote period after surgery with complicated rheumatic multivalvular heart disease is reported.
