The article examines directions for ensuring sustainable economic development in Uzbekistan based on green innovation and technological modernisation, using data from the Ministry of Energy and the National Statistics Committee. Solar and wind generation rose from 0.43 billion kWh in 2022 to more than 10.5 billion kWh in 2025, and the share of green generation reached 19.4% of total electricity output. At the same time, an estimated 23% decline in hydropower output highlights climate risks, and reaching the 54% target by 2030 requires green generation to grow by 29–31% annually. Evidence-based recommendations on green finance, energy efficiency, industrial modernisation, research and innovation, and regional development are proposed.
