Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is an educational approach in which subject content is taught through a foreign language, most often English. This dual-focused approach aims to develop both subject knowledge and language competence simultaneously. CLIL has become increasingly significant in English education because it fosters meaningful language use, learner engagement, and intercultural competence. This approach allows learners to acquire language naturally while interacting with academic content, which enhances both linguistic skills and cognitive development. Research indicates that CLIL improves learners’ motivation, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Nevertheless, its effective implementation requires well-prepared teachers, appropriate materials, and balanced assessment strategies. This article examines the theoretical background, benefits, challenges, and practical strategies for applying CLIL in English education contexts. The discussion concludes with recommendations for classroom practice and future research directions.
