Precise sample temperature control while measuring infrared spectra is required in studies of temperature-dependent phenomena, and for maximum reproducibility and transferability of spectra. Generally, the approach used in condensed phase spectroscopy has been to construct a thermostated cell which can be located in a regular cell mount. Such cells are usually bulky, difficult to fill and handle, and expensive, either to buy or construct.
