Phytochemical investigation on the heartwood of Dalbergia bariensis led to the isolation and identification of 18 compounds, including one previously undescribed compound ( 1 ) and 17 known compounds ( 2-18 ). These isolated compounds were categorized into three major classes: one α -diketone ( 1 ), two coumarins ( 2 – 3 ), and fifteen flavonoids as well as their derivatives ( 4 – 18 ). Among the known compounds, compounds 3 , 8-9 , 11 and 18 were obtained from D . bariensis for the first time, whereas compound 10 was reported for the first time in the genus Dalbergia . Structural elucidation of the isolated compounds was accomplished primarily by means of NMR spectroscopy, HRMS, and comparison with prior literature. This study complements the chemical composition of D . bariensi s and discusses the chemotaxonomic significance of these isolated secondary metabolites.
