The unit cell parameters of deuterated gypsum have been extracted from Rietveld analysis of neutron powder diffraction data, obtained during compression of powdered gypsum up to 5.4 GPa. The unit‐cell of gypsum compresses anisotropically, with the largest compression along the b‐axis. The static compressibility has been determined by fitting the data to a third‐order Birch‐Murnaghan equation of state. This yields values of 45±1 GPa for the bulk modulus and 2.0±0.2 for its pressure derivative.
