The preparation of ammonium(2:5)-molybdate from aqueous solution is described. The Raman and infrared spectra show great resemblance to the spectra of ammonium(3:8)-molybdate tetrahydrate. As first intermediary phase by thermal decomposition the polymeric ammonium octamolybdate is formed.
