Evaluation of the mechanisms involved in the interlaminar fracture of composite materials in the presence of nanoparticles is focused on characterizing both the opening mode I and the shear mode II. The objective of this article is a comprehensive review of researches and efforts to investigate the effects of nanoparticles on the mechanical properties and mode I /II fracture characteristics in composite materials. The final section of this review deals with the evaluation of nanoparticles effects on bridging laws, cohesive mechanism, and traction-separation laws of nanocomposites mode I and II fracture as a case study.
