Why the study?
Stress is a risk factor contributing to hypertension, and the role of stress management in maintaining blood pressure stability among hypertensive patients was investigated.
Does adaptive stress management improve blood pressure control in patients with hypertension?

Does adaptive stress management improve blood pressure control in patients with hypertension?
p-value: p=0.031
Adaptive stress management is significantly associated with better blood pressure control in patients with hypertension.
Background: Hypertension is a condition characterized by a persistent increase in blood pressure, with systolic blood pressure ? 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure ? 90 mmHg based on repeated measurements. One of the risk factors contributing to hypertension is stress. An individual's ability to manage stress through appropriate stress management plays an important role in maintaining blood pressure stability. Blood pressure is the force exerted within blood vessels when the heart pumps blood throughout the body. Objective: This study aimed to determine the relationship between stress management and blood pressure among patients with hypertension. Methods: This study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design using a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 108 respondents selected through accidental sampling. Data were collected by selecting respondents who were intentionally encountered and met the inclusion criteria. Results: The results of the bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test showed a p-value of 0.031 (< 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between stress management and blood pressure among patients with hypertension at the Posyandu in Pomah Village. Conclusion: Stress management is associated with blood pressure among patients with hypertension at the Posyandu in Pomah Village.

Marwanti et al. (2026) conducted a cross-sectional in Hypertension (n=108). Maladaptive stress management vs. Adaptive stress management was evaluated on Blood pressure control (Uncontrolled ≥140/90 mmHg vs Controlled <140/90 mmHg) (p=0.031).
