Life history ofA. proletellawas studied on cauliflower leaves at 15.3° C and 100 % relative humidity for the egg stage, at 16.1° C, and 71.3 % R.H. for the immature stages, and at 16.8° C and 62.5 % R.H. for the adults. The average duration in days of its different stages were as follows: egg = 13.2; L1= 6.1; L2= 3.3; L3= 4.0, and pupa 9.5. Life span in days averaged 12.4 for mated females, 7.8 for males and 7.4 for unmated females. For the mated and unmated females, in respect, the pre‐oviposition period was 1.4 and 3.3 days, the oviposition period was 9.8 and 2.7 days, and the number of eggs laid per single female was 28.9 and 10.6 in average. Mated females deposited their eggs intermittently, unmated continuously. The difference between post oviposition period of mated and unmated females was statistically insignificant. Parthenogenetic eggs developed only to males. The AphelinidEncarsia partenopeaMasi, which parasitizesSiphoninus granatiin Egypt, effectively checkedA. proletellain July.
