Ecuador is known for breaking world records for species concentration per area. Ants are an important component of that biodiversity. In the framework of The Ants of Ecuador initiative, we identified fifteen new species of ants for the first time recorded from the country. These species belong to four subfamilies and eight genera. The genus Cryptomyrmex Fernández, 2004 is reported for the first time in Ecuador. We provide concise taxonomic diagnoses of the species, with notes on their natural history and distribution. These findings highlight Ecuador’s megadiversity and underscore the urgent need for increased research on their ant richness.
