Load frequency control (LFC) approach can deal with the stability problem of multi‐area power systems, which includes constant or uncertain time delays and redundant communication messages. These uncertain delays or heavy message transmission lead to LFC system instability and lack of safety. This paper investigates an adaptive dynamic event‐triggered (DET) mechanism for an LFC scheme based on sub‐predictors. The norm‐bounded uncertainty was taken into consideration, which occurred during the linearization of the LFC system modeling with the participation of electric vehicle (EV) aggregators. The maximum allowable transmission intervals, for both the sensor–to–controller and controller–to–actuator communication channels, were calculated by a linear matrix inequality (LMI). We compensated for uncertain large delays with different numbers of sub‐predictors and used an event‐triggered mechanism reducing the workload of sent control signals from the controller to actuator. The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified by simulation studies in three‐area LFC models, three‐area nine generators and New England 10 machines 39‐bus with EV aggregators.
