Patch-type continuous ECG monitors aid primary care by detecting arrhythmias, autonomic dysfunction, and sleep apnea.
Why the study?
The importance of lifestyle disease management in arrhythmia treatment and prevention is increasingly recognized, but practical approaches for comprehensive outpatient management using long-term ECG monitoring remain to be clarified.
Does multifunctional long-term patch ECG monitoring improve the detection and comprehensive management of arrhythmias, autonomic dysfunction, and sleep apnea in general practice patients?
Case Report (n=106)
No
Does multifunctional long-term patch ECG monitoring improve the detection and comprehensive management of arrhythmias, autonomic dysfunction, and sleep apnea in general practice patients?
Multifunctional long-term patch ECG monitoring in primary care provides comprehensive physiological data, enabling more effective, individualized management of arrhythmias and related lifestyle diseases like sleep apnea.
May support multi-functional patch ECG for arrhythmia care in primary care; hypothesis-generating and leaves open randomized outcome trials.

FUNATSU et al. (2026) conducted a case report in Arrhythmia, Sleep Apnea Syndrome (n=106). Patch-type multi-functional continuous ECG monitor (RootiRx) was evaluated. The use of a patch-type multi-functional continuous ECG monitor in a primary care setting facilitated comprehensive patient management by accurately diagnosing arrhythmias, evaluating autonomic function, and screening for sleep apnea syndrome.
