CT angiography delineates rare mixed TAPVC with dual drainage to coronary sinus and innominate vein.
Why the study?
Mixed total anomalous pulmonary venous connection with dual drainage is an extremely rare congenital anomaly requiring detailed anatomical delineation for surgical planning.
Case Report (n=1)
This case highlights the critical role of CT angiography in delineating complex pulmonary venous anatomy to guide surgical planning in exceedingly rare dual-drainage TAPVC variants.
Supports CT angiography for mapping rare dual-drainage TAPVC; leaves open generalizability beyond single cases.
Total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) is a rare congenital anomaly and mixed TAPVC with dual drainage is even rarer. We report the case of a 1-year-old male child presenting with progressive dyspnea, in whom computed tomography (CT) angiography revealed a complex mixed-type TAPVC with dual drainage into the coronary sinus and innominate vein. This case highlights the critical role of CT angiography in delineating complex pulmonary venous anatomy and guiding surgical planning to prevent residual shunting.

Kabra et al. (2026) conducted a case report in Mixed Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection (TAPVC) with dual drainage (n=1). Computed tomography (CT) angiography was evaluated. CT angiography successfully delineated a rare mixed-type total anomalous pulmonary venous connection with dual drainage into the coronary sinus and innominate vein.
