The complete mitochondrial genomes of two Qinghai-Tibet Plateau butterflies, Colias lada and C. wanda, were assembled from next-generation sequencing data, measuring 15,078 bp and 15,144 bp. Both contain 13 PCGs, 22 tRNAs, 2 rRNAs and one control region. Phylogenetic trees based on the 13 PCGs and 2 rRNAs using ML and BI methods, with high support values, show that C. wanda, C. lada and C. sifanica share a recent common ancestor, and reconstruct the relationships among the Coliadinae genera.
