This article examines the late editorial formation of the seventh chapter of bSotah through an analysis of statements attributed to Babylonian Amoraim. It argues that these attributions do not engage the Mishnah’s Halakhic content and reflect a post-Amoraic editorial process rather than sustained Amoraic discourse. Through literary and comparative analysis, the study classifies these statements according to editorial techniques, showing that they derive from diverse sources and form a coherent redactional layer. It also invites reconsideration of the chapter’s marginal place in the Babylonian curriculum and highlights the editor’s role in shaping Babylonian dialectical discourse.
