New optimization method calibrates the Mitchell-Schaefer model to accurately recover cardiac action potential dynamics.
Why the study?
The Mitchell-Schaeer ionic model requires parameter identification to accurately capture key cardiac action potential features such as APD, DT, and RT.
May aid parameter recovery in Mitchell-Schaeffer model; leaves open validation before research or clinical use.
Ionic models are used to describe the evolution of the electrical potential across the cardiac cell membranes. The Mitchell-Schaeer model is a simple two variables nonlinear ionic model with a limited set of parameters. This model can still capture the main features of the cardiac action potential, namely the action potential duration (APD), the conduction velocity (CV), depolarisation time (DT), recovery time (RT), etc. In this paper we have developed an optimization method to recover the specific characteristics ADP, DT and RT by identifying the values that the four parameters = [ in; out; open; close; ] of the Mitchell-Schaeer must take. By using the fonction ode in Scilab, Mitchell-Schaeer model so

Ngoma et al. (2015) studied Cardiac electrophysiology. Optimization method for parameter identification was evaluated on Recovery of specific characteristics (APD, DT, and RT) of the cardiac action potential. An optimization method was developed to identify the parameters of the Mitchell-Schaefer ionic model to recover cardiac action potential characteristics including APD, DT, and RT.
