Addressing climate change requires urgent, collective action. Education, both formal and informal, plays a vital role in fostering a public understanding of climate science and solutions. Yet engagement is shaped by diverse, often conflicting views on urgency and responsibility. Science museums offer a unique setting for meaningful learning, even among more skeptical audiences. This study examines how visitors engaged with Hopeful Future, a climate exhibit designed to counter climate solution aversion. Analysis of conversations from nearly 30 groups of visitors revealed frequent reflections and conditional support, including across audiences with diverse climate perspectives. Findings suggest that strategic exhibit design can foster genuine engagement regardless of prior beliefs and identities. We offer recommendations for the design of inclusive and productive climate learning experiences.
