The need for high-performance textiles with superior mechanical strength necessitates the analysis of hybrid yarn structures. This study investigates the maximum force at break (MFB) of multicomponent hybrid yarn. The hybrid yarn, comprising three components where ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) as outermost sheath, stainless steel (SS) in core, a polyester as middle layer. Key parameters—UHMWPE linear density, SS (µm), and twist per meter (TPM)—were analyzed for their impact on MFB. ANOVA confirmed the significance of UHMWPE and TPM, with 200 TPM, 400 Den UHMWPE, and 50 µm SS achieving an MFB of ~85-90 N. The quadratic regression model provided an excellent fit (R² = 0.9966, adjusted R² = 0.9904, predicted R² = 0.9454) and predictive accuracy demonstrated by an average of 2.25% relative error. These findings offer actionable insights for enhancing the performance of hybrid yarns in cut, slash, stab and impact resistant applications.
