We read with interest the article by de Latour et al,1 “Impact of an endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography radiation safety initiative on pregnant and nonpregnant staff dose exposures: a quality improvement initiative.”1 This quality improvement initiative showed that measures can reduce staff exposure by shortening fluoroscopy time (FT) from 12.1 to 6.3 minutes (48%) and lowering the monthly shallow-dose equivalent by 70%. The undetectable fetal badge readings suggest that endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography during pregnancy may be feasible with protection.
