The steam‐distilled essential oil of Solidago graminifolia (L.) Salisb. was investigated by GC, GC‐MS and NMR spectroscopy. About eighty components were identified. The main constituents are sabinene (18%), β‐pinene (10%) and β‐phellandrene (23%). Two new compounds, 3‐oxo‐p‐menth‐1‐en‐7‐al and 8,9‐oxidocadalene, were isolated and characterized by 1H‐ and 13C‐NMR spectra.
