Necrotizing fasciitis is a severe, rapidly spreading, progressive infection of the underlying subcutaneous soft tissue and fascia. Prompt and appropriate treatment is crucial, as delayed intervention can allow bacteria to enter the bloodstream. Typical predisposing factors for NF include skin breaks after surgery or trauma, which may be small and overlooked. It is generally seen in immunosuppressed individuals following trivial trauma. Here we present a case of periorbital necrotizing fasciitis in a young lactating woman with emphasing on early detection and aggressive treatment for preventing the loss of vision and ophthalmic morbidity.
