This review focuses on I–III–VI 2 semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) and their applications. Special emphasis is placed on Cu‐chalcogenide‐based nanocrystals, particularly 0D CuInS 2 (Se) ones and their CuInZnS(Se) derivatives. This review provides a comprehensive overview of synthetic advances, fundamental concepts (including intrinsic properties), and the specific relevance of these QDs for photovoltaic applications.
