The article discusses the geospatial features of modern urban mapping, which became possible thanks to geoinformation and geotechnological resources. The everyday practices of citizens are considered, allowing them to record their place in the city. The development of information technology tools makes it possible to discuss online the features of a particular geographical place in the here-and-now format or interact indirectly with those who are not here now, but once were. These are new forms of understanding and symbolic description of the place and time of geographical objects. The transition of fixing geospatial mapping from scientific, objective data to everyday, subjective practices of perception, evaluation and analysis of a geographical place is indicated. Based on the results of a study (n=1200) conducted among residents of cities in the Siberian Federal District, new meanings and conditions for geospatial mapping of urban places are recorded. The assessments of representatives of different generations on the geospatial places of the city are analyzed.
