Ultra-high-temperature ceramic foams possess excellent electromagnetic wave absorption and load-bearing capabilities. However, due to the single loss mechanism and poor spatial impedance matching, their electromagnetic absorption performance is still not satisfactory. Herein, Ni nanoparticle-inlaid ceramic foams were fabricated through a self-expansion combined with impregnation-thermal decomposition process. The embedded nickel nanoparticles introduced magnetic components, optimizing the impedance matching. The optimized ceramic foams achieved a minimum reflection loss of −75.4 dB and an effective absorption bandwidth of 4.72 GHz, attributed to the enhancement of conductive loss and polarization loss. This study provides a feasible strategy for surface modification of ceramic absorbing materials.
