Nuclear magnetic resonance has been investigated on the Laves phase compound (Zr 1- x Nb x ) Fe 2 at liquid helium temperature. In the C-15 type ferromagnetic region where Fe moments are almost constant (1.6 µ B /Fe for x <0.3), the change in zero-field spin-echo spectra of 57 Fe, 93 Nb and 91 Zr can be attributed to a change in the coupling constant between the internal field and the neighboring Fe moment. For the C-14 type antiferromagnetic compounds (0.4≤ x ≤0.7), broad spin-echo spectra of 93 Nb were observed, suggesting a wide distribution of the magnitude of Fe moments. For more Nb-rich compounds (0.85≤ x ≤0.95), the spectra in external field show a small negative internal field (∼3 kOe), suggesting that these compounds are weakly ferromagnetic. At x =0.8 the spectrum suggests a coexistence of ferromagnetism and antiferromagnetism.
