Rare earth molybdates are used in modern technology due to their unique scintillation, nonlinear optical, and ferroelectric properties. These properties can be modified by altering the composition of these compounds. K5Gd(1 ‒ x)Hox(MoO4)4 (х = 0.04–0.06) crystals were synthesized, and their optical properties were studied using X-ray diffraction and spectroscopy in the ultraviolet (UV), visible, and infrared (IR) regions of the electromagnetic spectrum. The concentration of holmium, x = 0.04–0.06, providing high optical characteristics of the material was established. Optical spectroscopy was also used to calculate the band gap. The crystal orientation was determined, structural defects were investigated, and dislocation density was estimated. The grown crystals exhibited high transmission of ultraviolet, visible, and infrared radiation, making them suitable for various applications. They also demonstrated excellent resistance to moisture, making them a promising material for use in harsh environments.
