The volatile components of the flowerheads of Centaurea cineraria L. subsp. umbrosa (Lacaita) Pign. and Centaurea napifolia L. were obtained by hydrodistillation and identified by GC and GC–MS. Altogether 55 components were identified, mostly sesquiterpenes and hydrocarbons.
