To investigate the cyclic performance of columns reinforced with SBPR rebars, six concrete columns were fabricated and tested under cyclic lateral and constant axial loads. The main experimental variables were the type of rebar, steel quantity, and arrangement. The test results showed that using SBPR rebars as longitudinal reinforcement ensured sufficient displacement hardening capacity up to a displacement angle of 0.03 rad, similar to concrete columns reinforced with SBPDN rebars, and the residual displacement angle was kept below 0.005 rad. Furthermore, a simple method for evaluating the ultimate strength of the columns was proposed and its reliability was verified.
