In response to Japan’s declining birthrate, this study explores the value of multipurpose public facility for visitors with children, focusing on the cultural creative base Sirius in Yamato City. A user survey revealed that Sirius is primarily used as a play space rather than a library. Over half of users engaged in cross-use of multiple facilities. Using child-oriented facilities and participating in events that involve parent-to-parent interaction were linked to higher satisfaction. From the perspective of facility spatial composition, this study clarified the importance of facility spaces that promote cross-use and interaction with other families for planning multi-purpose public facilities.
