We applied the “Draft Guidelines for Measurement and Evaluation Methods for Mapping Collapsed Building Distributions Using Airborne LiDAR” by the Building Research Institute to the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake damage in Wajima City. Results demonstrated high potential for rapid, wide-area screening of severe damage. Conversely, evaluation challenges were identified, leading to proposals for methodological improvements and future application scenarios.
