A new nassariid gastropod species is described from a mangrove-dominated estuary with sandy-muddy habitats along the Odisha coast, Bay of Bengal, eastern India. Nassarius jagannathi spec. nov. is characterized by a small, solid, elongate shell with a swollen penultimate whorl, distinctive denticle arrangement in the aperture, and variable colouration ranging from light brown with spiral bands to olivaceous green. Diagnostic features, comparisons with congeners, and ecological notes are provided. This finding highlights the underexplored diversity of Nassariidae along the Bay of Bengal.
