The First Law of Thermodynamics states that energy cannot be created or destroyed. This raises the fundamental question: If energy cannot be created, where does it actually come from? Current cosmology traces energy to the Big Bang, but does not answer what preceded it or what allowed mathematics and physical laws to exist. This hypothesis proposes the Theory of Nothingness. It defines Nothingness (N0) as Absolute Void with Zero Time (T 0), lying beyond the realm of mathematics, logic, and existence. Nothingness is proposed as the singularity of time – the source from which time originates. Once time emerged from nothingness (N0 = T 0 → T 1), time created space, light, gravity, energy, consciousness, mathematics, and the universe, and continues to do so. The paper presents Core Axioms, implications for unifying General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics, and answers to dark matter, dark energy, and the origin of physical laws.
