Theoretical framework reveals time as the primary substrate of physical reality, indicating that the transition between nothingness and time flow acts as a fifth fundamental force.
In 1947 Einstein stated that without matter and its motion there would be no space or time. This paper extends that principle to its logical foundation. We propose that if time were to cease, there would be no space, no motion, no particles, no consciousness, and no universe. We define ”nothingness” as the singularity of time, denoted T0: time in a potential, non-flowing state. From this, we posit that the transformation between time and nothingness constitutes nature’s fifth fundamental force. It is absolute, primordial, and simultaneously creative and destructive. This framework provides a direct answer to Leibniz’s question: ”Why is there something rather than nothing?”Answer: Because nothing is time, and time had to flow.
