Non-profit organizations worldwide struggle with ineffective leadership training frameworks, leading to low volunteer retention, weak engagement, and organizational inefficiencies. This study evaluates the effectiveness of leadership training programs (LTP) in improving volunteer management skills and engagement (VMSE) within World Vision Ghana (WVG). The study also identified key determinants contributing to enhance LTP, and explored difficulties hindering VMSE implementation at WVG. A quantitative genre with a descriptive design was adopted, utilizing purposive sampling, structured questionnaires, relative importance index (RII), MS Excel, and descriptive statistics for data analysis. Findings revealed that leadership training programs at WVG were predominantly rated as extremely highly effective. Key determinants enhancing LTP included robust organizational support, skilled trainers, mentors, and curriculum relevance. However, challenges hindering VMSE implementation included limited funding and resources, inadequate communication and coordination, and legal and ethical complexities in volunteer governance. Interventions should include strengthened communication and coordination frameworks, and enhance financial sustainability strategies.
