We present a genome assembly of Matthiola sinuata (sea stock; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Brassicales; Brassicaceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 2,066.38 megabases and 2,057.22 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (99.52%) was scaffolded into seven chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome assembly has a length of 418.53 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 153.5 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly by Ensembl identified 26,923 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
