Genome assembly reveals extensive insights into Lathyrus linifolius, indicating vital genetic information for Fabaceae species.
<ns5:p> We present a genome assembly of <ns5:italic>Lathyrus linifolius</ns5:italic> (bitter vetch; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Fabales; Fabaceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 5 159.47 megabases and 5 050.38 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (97.64%) is scaffolded into 7 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial sequence has a length of 446.9 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 134.78 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 32 795 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns5:p>
