Genome assembly reveals detailed genomic structure in Lathyrus aphaca, suggesting insights into plant genetics.
<ns5:p> We present a genome assembly of <ns5:italic>Lathyrus aphaca</ns5:italic> (Yellow Vetchling; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Fabales; Fabaceae). The genome sequence has a total length of 4 252.40 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.65%) is scaffolded into 7 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial sequence has a length of 375.35 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 149.08 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns5:p>
