In this research, we analyze the effect of the geometric characteristics of the ceramics as well as the effect of their placement at different distances on the temperature distribution of the furnace. The computational analysis and simulation aimed at producing results were carried out with the ANSYS-CFX computer package. The analysis was based on how these factors affect the backflow and specifically to what extent the temperature rises in the preheating zone and how well we can maintain better thermal uniformity. Specifically, reducing the height of the stacks as well as increasing their width gives a greater increase in the backflow. The thermal distribution shows great non-uniformity by modifying these parameters. However, these smaller stacking widths help in thermal homogeneity. In relation to flow velocity and turbulence, it was observed that we have higher values in the center of the oven than on the sides. There is also great sensitivity to the Reynolds number.
