This study aims to analyze the implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) in fostering deep learning on the human digestive system topic among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Bulakan 02 and to identify its supporting and inhibiting factors. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed through data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of PBL through the stages of problem orientation, learning organization, investigation, presentation of results, and analysis and evaluation supported the development of mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning. Students were able to relate the digestive system concepts to everyday life, collaborate in groups, conduct investigations, and reflect on the learning process. Supporting factors included teacher preparedness, learning media, worksheets, group collaboration, and teacher guidance. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors included limited learning time, uneven student participation, and the need for guidance during the investigation process. Therefore, PBL can support deep learning, although students’ understanding has not yet been evenly achieved.
