Based on the results of the initial observation, several problems in the science learning process were identified, showing that during the learning process, the teacher used less varied teaching models. As a result, students only received information passively; they did not understand the material concepts deeply, so the cognitive development of active and curious students was not fulfilled. Based on data obtained from the initial observation results, the number of students who completed their learning based on their learning outcomes was only 2 out of 6 students in that class, so the percentage of students' learning completeness only reached 33%. This study aims to improve the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students at UPT SPF SD Inpres Minasa Upa. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which is carried out in 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of four stages: planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were The fifth-grade class consists of 6 students, made up of 1 girl and 5 boys. The data collection techniques used by the researcher in this study were non-test techniques (observation), tests, and documentation. The research results showed that the implementation of the project-based learning (PJBL) model was able to improve the critical thinking skills of the fifth-grade students at UPT SPF SD Inpres Minasa Upa. Based on the evaluation results of the students in the first cycle, the number of students who reached the critical criteria was 66.67% with an average score of 75% (moderately critical category), while in the second cycle, all students achieved scores meeting the critical criteria at 100% with an average of 83.33%.
