Ormond disease is a rare pathology related to the development of retroperitoneal fibrosis. As a rule, its clinical signs are not specific and often are similar to those of other diseases, in particular pyelonephritis. A typical and potentially grave manifestation of this disease is early ureteral obstruction and compression of the adjacent structures. The review of literature and a clinical case presented in this article emphasize the importance of early diagnosis and vigilance for detection of the rare forms of fibrosis when examining patients with corresponding symptoms.
