Geƫng a student ready for campus recruitment takes more than a list of companies that are visiƟng. In our own college the placement cell keeps track of drives and applicants in one set of tools, students look for interview pracƟce somewhere else, and the two rarely meet. PlaceIntel is our aƩempt to bring them into one web applicaƟon. The first phase, described here, gives the Training and Placement Officer (TPO) a place to manage students, companies and drives, gives students a profile and a simple way to apply, and adds an assistant that suggests pracƟce interview quesƟons, company-specific preparaƟon notes, and areas where a student’s skills fall short of a role. The assistant lives in a separate Python service that talks to a hosted language model, so it can be changed without disturbing the placement records. The system is built with React, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Redis, FastAPI and Gemini 3.6 Flash, and is packaged with Docker for AWS. It has not yet been tried with real users; we say plainly what that leaves open.
